The master plan is informed by the goals of celebrating human activity and interaction, nurturing community, and connecting the residents to their natural environment and urban context. The defining framework features a harmonious interplay of the site’s existing natural features with sensitively configured residential buildings and an expansive Central Green Area to engage lively pedestrian-centered neighborhoods. A major goal is to preserve the site’s outstanding natural topographical features to the South by enhancing the lush landscaping on the hills and providing pedestrian paths to panoramic lookout pavilions. The design also envisions the Urban Spine, a strong East-West open space that connects to the existing Central District with a new pedestrian overpass over Huijingdong Road.
